1992

The journey began with the founding of Advanced Control Engineering, establishing deep expertise in control systems before evolving into what became Alerton Australia.

1998

Growth accelerated with the acquisition of ACT reseller Leading Edge Automation, strengthening technical capability and expanding reach within the building automation market.

1999

Rapid momentum was recognised nationally when the business was featured in the BRW Fast 100, signalling its emergence as a fast-growing technology company.

2000

The opening of the Sydney office marked a major step in national expansion, positioning the company closer to key customers and partners.

2002

An internal innovation initiative known as “Skunkworks” was launched, fostering new ideas and technologies that would later evolve into the Optergy platform.

2003

Continued growth earned a second BRW Fast 100 listing, while the Optergy brand was formally established, setting the stage for global innovation in building management.

2007

With demand growing across Australia, a South Australia office was opened to better support regional customers and projects.

2008

The Perth office opened, extending operations to Western Australia and reinforcing the company’s national footprint.

2010

International expansion began with the opening of a Malaysian office, alongside the launch of Abakus Analytics to harness data intelligence for smarter buildings.

2011

A UK office was established and Optergy Pty Ltd was created as a subsidiary, enabling focused global growth and stronger international market presence.

2012

The acquisition of the Queensland Alerton reseller further consolidated operations and strengthened service delivery across the state.

2013

Operational Intelligence and Conservia business units were formed, expanding the group’s capabilities in analytics, sustainability, and performance optimisation.

2014

The organisation rebranded as Oberix Group, unifying its growing portfolio of companies, and opened a Singapore office to support Asia-Pacific operations.

2015

Expansion continued with the opening of a US office and the scaling of global distribution, bringing Oberix technologies to new international markets.

2023

A new office was purchased in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and Optergy Logistics Sdn Bhd was established to centralise logistics, assembly, and operational efficiency.

2024

Qantec Automation was founded and a New Zealand office opened, broadening the group’s automation offering and strengthening its presence across the region.

2025

International companies were formally consolidated under the Oberix Group, creating a unified global structure to support continued growth and innovation.

Oberix looks ahead with a clear purpose: enabling a smarter, greener built environment where data-driven automation delivers safer, more efficient spaces for people everywhere.
